EVA Air announces new route from Dallas Fort Worth to Taipei

America’s second-busiest airport is getting a new nonstop flight to Taiwan.

Next November, Taiwanese carrier EVA Air will launch nonstop service from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to its Taipei home base, the airline said this week.

The new flights will give the Star Alliance carrier a seventh U.S. gateway and a new destination for its Royal Laurel business class — a cabin for which the airline has big plans over the coming years.

Word of this new nonstop flight between Taipei and North Texas came nearly three months after EVA executives told TPG the carrier had its eyes on DFW — along with two other potential future U.S. gateways, Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) outside Washington, D.C.

“With frequent business activities and convenient connections to Central and South America, the new route is expected to fulfill high passenger and cargo demands,” EVA said in a statement to TPG Tuesday.

EVA’s new DFW service

The new DFW-to-Taipei service will launch on Nov. 3, 2025. EVA will fly the route with five weekly round trips.

The carrier has not yet said which of its long-haul jets will carry passengers to and from DFW, but EVA’s most prevalent long-haul aircraft is its Boeing 777-300ER.

However, EVA also has well over a dozen Airbus A350-1000 jets on order.

Executives this summer told TPG the A350 is expected to serve at least some U.S. routes in the future — most likely flights to the East Coast.

The airline is also plotting retrofits for some of its existing jets. In the coming years, the interior upgrades will see EVA’s Royal Laurel business class get suites with privacy doors for the first time.

EVA currently flies nonstop to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) from six U.S. cities: Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles on the West Coast; Chicago and Houston in the country’s midsection; and New York on the East Coast.

The carrier made headlines this summer when it debuted its latest Hello Kitty-themed aircraft on select flights to Chicago.

EVA faces increased competition on its flights to and from the U.S. and elsewhere amid the rise of fellow Taiwanese carrier Starlux, which has branded itself a premium airline.
